Substance Abuse Prevention Agency Welcomes New Board Member
Columbus – Drug-Free Action Alliance proudly welcomes Douglas Althauser to their Board of Directors. “Mr. Althauser brings with him an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience. We are extremely fortunate to be welcoming him to our team,” said Patricia Harmon, executive director of Drug-Free Action Alliance. Among many titles, Althauser is an Ohio licensed chemical dependency counselor, a nationally certified master addiction counselor, an internationally certified alcohol and drug counselor, a nationally certified rehabilitation counselor and an Ohio Licensed attorney. He spent 20-plus years in chemical dependency counseling, where he assisted individuals and families in their journey to treatment and recovery. Althauser is a trainer, educator and professional presenter, working with chemical dependency counselors in the areas of diagnosis, treatment, prevention and more. Althauser majored in psychology at Ohio University, where he also received his Masters of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling. He has served as Justice of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity at Capital University Law School, where he also earned his Jurist Doctorate. He has a son in middle school and resides in Westerville (central Ohio). Drug-Free Action Alliance is a statewide, non-profit organization providing leadership to promote safe and drug-free communities throughout Ohio. Program initiatives include Parents Who Host Lose The Most; Don’t be a party to teenage drinking, Know!, Ohio Center for Coalition Excellence, Ohio College Initiative to Reduce High Risk Drinking and Drug Free 24/7.
