Grant/Foundation Funding

NCAA CHOICES

NCAA CHOICES Web Site

Through a competitive application process, the NCAA CHOICES program provides funding (up to $30,000 over three years) to NCAA member institutions and conferences for the implementation and evaluation of alcohol-education and prevention programs on college campuses. Many of the alcohol-education programs that have been developed through CHOICES have used athletics, student-athletes or related events to deliver the educational program to the entire campus. These programs target most or all the student body rather than providing programs solely for student-athletes. Collaboration between the athletics department and other campus organizations involved in alcohol-education is encouraged as part of CHOICES.

U.S. Department of Education

Since 1999, the U.S. Department of Education has provided a variety of grant funding annually for alcohol and other drug abuse prevention on college campuses. Though at present the Department has no open grant competitions that are relevant to alcohol, other drug and violence prevention at institutes of higher education, future opportunities are anticipated.
